LOL! Actually I was about 4 feet from him at the time. I regularly get very close to the more dangerous animals when I take their photographs. I lie down a foot away from rattlesnakes and walk right up to alligators on the trail. I respect their presence and they seem to sense that I mean them no harm so we reach an empathetic understanding, as crazy as that sounds.
